Tips For Effective Abdominal Fat Loss

Abdominal fat is quite stressful. Having a belly protruding through a shirt can cause a serious dent in one's self esteem to the point that the person cannot wear anything unless it is large and loose. However, instead of worrying about how to hide the pot belly, it is better to start working towards abdominal fat loss. With a few tips here and there you will see yourself shedding that excess weight and becoming carefree once again.

Spacing Out Small Meals

A lot of people might think that eating three spaced out meals per day is enough to achieve abdominal fat loss with ease. However, this is not the case. The fact that breakfast, lunch and supper are spaced out means that helpings of food will be large during those meals in order to compensate for the missed eating hours.

Believe it or not, this in itself can bring about obesity if it is done recklessly. Instead, have small meals at 3 or 4 hour intervals everyday. When you do this consistently for a month you will soon come to realize that never at any point during the day will you feel hungry enough to gorge on a large meal. A well developed habit of eating small meals ensures that you won't be eating any more large meals because you won't be used to them.

Abdominal Exercises

There are a host of abdominal exercises you can partake in for the sake of achieving abdominal fat loss. All of these exercises are designed in such a way that it is your abdominal area which is brought under the spotlight of exercise, adding pressure and forcing your abdominal muscles to develop. There are different exercises you can try out. Sit ups and leg ups are perhaps two of the most effective exercises. With sit ups you lie on your back and place your hands behind your head.

With your legs clasped together, start lifting your upper body until you reach a 90 degree angle with your abdomen. And with leg ups you do the opposite, bending your knees until you feel pressure around your abdomen, and unbending them until your legs are flat against the ground. Abdominal exercise can even extend to cycling since the motion of cycling also exerts pressure on the abdomen.

Stay Positive

Lastly, staying positive is very important. For some people, stress stemming from negative thinking can cause emotional eating, and hence weight gain. Make sure you appreciate your progress no matter how insignificant. This way you can maintain high levels of self motivation and remain determined to achieve even more.
